Being a Southern Nevada and Utah virtual tour provider has led to many different opportunities outside of the usual business.  Since moving to Mesquite, Nevada and becoming the only virtual tour company in the region, I have been asked to cover many local events with a media pass and provide photos for numerous magazine articles.  As of late, I've even covered a local Baja 300 desert race, wrote an article on the Mesquite's premier local golf courses and shot the Re/Max Long Drive Championship in Mesquite Nevada.  Both opportunities presented themselves due to my affiliation with local businesses, realtors and the chamber of commerce.  These photo opportunities are leading to larger events in the future and will add to the ever-growing possibilities that the virtual tour industry can lead into.

There are a few ways to get involved in such events, but the easiest way is to get out into your community and make a name for yourself and your business.  Once the community is aware of your presence, the word-of-mouth advertising will take over and you will start to reap the benefits of all the promotion.

I have visited local Nevada and Utah businesses, Realtors, the chamber of commerce and town reps.  I have taken the time time to talk to salon owners, bankers and post office employees.  These people have a vast amount of locals coming into their place of business every day and can help pass the word in volumes.  Be sure to leave a few business cards with any of these people so they can give a couple out while having one for themselves.  This is your own personal 'employee' that works every day for free!  Be sure to mention your website (that should be on the card)!

The most important thing to remember when you visit these people is to not try to sell anything.  Just go in, say hello, introduce yourself and give a very quick explanation of your business.  Be sure to thank them for their time and exit promptly.  Remember, you're only there to give word, not solicit.  They can be sold by going to your website and viewing more information there.

So take the next day you have open and hit the streets.  Evan as a new virtual tour company, you'll be surprised at the response you'll receive by meeting people face to face instead of sending postcards or emails.  People do business with people they know and are comfortable with.  Don't be a stranger and get yourself out there!
